CONCORD, N.C. (Oct. 4, 2010) – Charlotte Motor Speedway is gearing
up for the only night race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup with the
Bank of America 500 on Oct. 16. Below are just some of the exciting
happenings fans can look forward to at the speedway ahead of all the racing
action:
Fans Given Unprecedented Access to Drivers with Special Ticket Packages
Building on its Fans First philosophy, Charlotte Motor Speedway is providing
an unprecedented number of opportunities for fans to get closer to the stars
of their favorite sport during Bank of America 500 Week, Oct. 13-16. Special
ticket packages will give fans the chance to see their favorite NASCAR
drivers and legends including Kasey Kahne or Kenny Wallace with the
OktoberFast package; Jamie McMurray with the Bass Pro Shops package; Richard
Petty and Junior Johnson with the Hall of Fame package; and Jeff Burton with

Popular Let the Troops Race Ticket Program Returns for Bank of America 500
Fans and companies are invited to purchase Bank of America 500 tickets for
the men and women of the U.S. armed services with the Let the Troops Race
ticket program. Charlotte Motor Speedway first launched the program during
its NASCAR races in May and received an overwhelming response. For just
$20.00 fans and businesses may donate a reserved seat to a soldier, Marine,
midshipmen, or airman by visiting www.charlottemotorspeedway.com or calling
the Charlotte Motor Speedway ticket office at 1-800-455-FANS (3267). Seats
will be provided to soldiers via the USO. In addition, special military
pricing is available for active duty and retired military personnel for the
major events at Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track at
Charlotte by calling 1-800-455-FANS (3267) or by visiting the box office on
race days.
CATS Route Offers Convenient Transportation To and From the Speedway
Charlotte Motor Speedway is once again partnering with the Charlotte Area
Transit System, or CATS, in Charlotte, N.C., to bring bus service from
Center City Charlotte to the track. Starting from the Charlotte
Transportation Center, race fans can take the 79X Concord Mills Express to
beat the traffic and enjoy the Bank of America 500 at the speedway for just
$7 round-trip. The route will run every 20 minutes from noon to 6 p.m. on
Oct. 16. Return trips will begin immediately after the checkered flag as
race fans make their way to the buses near the track’s main entrance. To

NASCAR Night at zMAX Dragway Oct. 12
NASCAR Night returns to zMAX Dragway on Oct. 12. Fans are invited to come
out and see NASCAR drivers, team owners, crew chiefs and team members
compete on the concrete quarter mile at the Bellagio of drag strips. Fans
can show a ticket to the upcoming Bank of America 500 at the zMAX Dragway
gate and receive free admission. Adult tickets are available at the gate for
just $5 and kids are free. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to
Speedway Children’s Charities. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and racing begins at
5 p.m.
Mac Daddy Dogs Make NASCAR Concession Debut
A new concession item will be added to the menu at Charlotte Motor Speedway
for Bank of America 500 Week. The Mac Daddy Dog is a hot dog encased in
macaroni pasta and pimento cheese, then coated in a panko breadcrumb crust
and deep fried. The fun fair food made its Charlotte Motor Speedway debut at
the Food Lion AutoFair in August and was an instant hit. The concession is a
creation of Levy Restaurants’ Emily Williams and her staff. Mac Daddy Dogs
will be available for $5 each at the Levy concession stand on the main
concourse.
Legends Million Winner Daniel Hemric in UNOH Southern 150 NASCAR Modified
Race
Daniel Hemric, winner of the largest grassroots race in history, the Legends
Million, will compete in the upcoming NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour
(NWSMT) UNOH Southern Slam 150 during Bojangles’ Pole Night on Oct. 14 as
part of Bank of America 500 Week. Hemric took home an unprecedented $250,000
purse after winning the Legends Million, a one-of-a-kind Legend Car race,
held July 17 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The 19-year-old Kannapolis, N.C.,
native will make his second career start in a NASCAR modified; he raced in a
NWSMT event at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C., earlier this year.

Custom Cobra Replica Benefitting SCC Displayed During Bank of America 500
Week
In only five days during the August Food Lion AutoFair at Charlotte Motor
Speedway, the team from Tommy Pike Customs in Greenville, S.C., turned a
pile of parts into a custom Cobra replica. During Bank of America 500 Week,
fans can get an up-close look at the high-performance roadster near the
speedway’s main entrance and enter to win the unique vehicle in a
fundraising raffle for Speedway Children’s Charities. Raffle tickets are $25
each or five for $100 and will be available during all 2010 events at
Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track at Charlotte until
the annual Souvenir Blowout on Nov. 26. Tickets may also be purchased online
at www.charlotte.speedwaycharities.org. The winner will be announced in
December.
Sam Bass Unveils October Souvenir Program Cover; Programs for Sale During
Race Week
Renowned motorsports artist Sam Bass unveiled an original painting that will
serve as the cover for the 2010 Bank of America 500 souvenir program. “The
Greatest Place to See the Race” highlights many of the activities in which
fans can engage while they are in Charlotte for the races, including a trip
to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, a visit to one of the area NASCAR team shops or
a ride in a driving school stock car. Images of these destinations are
reflected in the helmet of regular-season points leader and Chase for the
Sprint Cup contender Kevin Harvick. Other Chase drivers featured are current
points leader Jimmie Johnson, as well as Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Jeff
Gordon. Inside the program are feature stories on Jamie McMurray, the new
NASCAR Nationwide Series car and what makes Charlotte Motor Speedway “The
Greatest Place to See the Race.” Souvenir programs are just $10 and are for
sale at multiple locations around the track during Bank of America 500 Week.
Cat Used and Cat Dealers Hold Sale at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Regional Cat dealers, including Carolina Cat, Blanchard Machinery, Carter
Machinery and Gregory Poole Equipment, as well as Cat Used Equipment
Services, will display more than 30 Caterpillar machines available for
purchase adjacent to Charlotte Motor Speedway Oct. 14-16 during Bank of
America 500 Week. The sale also will include systems to view the entire Cat
dealer used equipment inventory on Catused.cat.com, which offers the largest
selection of used Cat machines on the Web. The sale is open to the public
and runs each day from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information,
